    Robert Schumanns dritte Sinfonie, die »Rheinische«, ist ein Bekenntnis zur rheinischen Lebenslust. Mit dem Rhein hat sie aber nichts am Hut. Ebenso wenig vom Wasser handelt Anna Clynes Werk »Restless Ocean« – eine Hymne auf das weibliche Geschlecht. Auch William Waltons Bratschenkonzert ließ anderes erwarten, galt er doch als Enfant terrible – doch die Viola singt lyrisch mit nobler Wärme.
